The Tiny Seed

Right now we are studying living things in science, focusing on plants.  We did a lesson on seeds and planting this week.

First, we read "The Tiny Seed" by Eric Carle.

Then we sorted seeds by type.  The worksheet I used was from the AIMS Math and Science Program.  I love these units and I wish I had time to do more of the lessons.

Next each child planted a kidney bean seed.

Then they recorded in their science journals what their cups looked like now and what they will look like when the plant is grown.  Unfortunately, I did not get a picture of the journal page.
